The "Julio D'Santiago y las 7 Potencias" project ("Julio D'Santiago and the 7 Powers") sees the light in search for a mix of illustrious elements of current music (Rap, Hip Hop, Electronic Music, Sampling) with traditional music from the Americas and the Caribbean The result is a colourful blend of Sangueo, Quichimba, Rumba, Batá rhythm and mass improvisation with Hip Hop, Pop and Reggaeton, while integrating computing and music technologies in a live setting.

Perfect balance, mixture, fusion, tradition and technology join as the principal ingredients of this musical concept, taking us onto a trip into a world of memories, auditory sensations and textures that played and still play an important role in our everyday lives.
We encounter a Sangeo chant, a Batà rhythm, some Cumbia, a bit of Lando, the cha-cha-cha... sounds of the city... nature... we relish the vibrances of this Cuban bar downtown Havana... we go slowly down this sandy Colombian road... The colourful components, interpreted through sound improvisation and electronic surprises, come together in this musical message of the Seven Powers Project.

The origins of the Seven Powers...
"The Julio D'Santiago and the Seven Powers" project was born in search of a formula to blend traditional music with current artistic elements. After years of in-depth research and analysis of the various cultural benchmarks present in south America and the Caribbean, including travel to the regions where these events are in the trustful hands of their advocators, a satisfying accomplishment of the project became reality with its final creation and excellent sound colour ensured by a team of experienced musicians:
Julio D'Santiago - Venezuela (musical direction, composer, drums and percussion), Ondina Duany - Cuba (lead vocals, vocal arrangements and percussion), José-Luis Musetti - Uruguay (piano and keyboards), Edwin Sanz - Venezuela (percussion, rap vocals), Roberto Pulido - Cuba (vocals and rap).
Modern technology through computers as instruments is integrated in this project and accentuated with vocal improvisation, percussion, dance and imagery in order to additionally strengthen the universe of the Seven Powers.
